Using a balance of mini-lecture, exercises, discussion, and feedback on your work from the group-leader and workshop participants, you will become grounded in all the basics of writing fiction or poetry, and be given the chance to develop yourself as a writer. You will get to present your writing to a rapt group of readers, and meet fellow writers. Our summer sessions are ideal for the budding writer, as well as those who need the motivation and encouragement to keep writing. The workshop will be presented in a clear, accessible manner.
Each session will be four weeks long and will meet once a week for two and half hours. During the course of the workshop you will:
- Write 1-2 short stories or 6-8 poems
- Read and discuss published short stories or poetry
- Discussions on basics of craft
- Writing exercises
- Present work for critique at least twice
All courses for ages 18+. All workshops led by Bathtub Collective Writers, graduate fiction and poetry writing students.
